Following Christ
FOLLOWING THE KING OF OUR LIVES 04/22/2007
Rev. Jerry Lepasana
After the deadliest shooting had happened last Monday (April 16) in Virginia Tech, many people including Christians have probably wondered and asked – Where was God when all of this was happening? I believe the answer can come from Psalm 103:19, The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all. Clearly, the Bible declares, God is sitting on the throne and He was very much in control. Although God does not order evil or sin, an event like this does not take Him by surprise. He knows exactly why He has allowed this to happen.
FOLLOWING CHRIST WITHOUT DOUBTS 04/15/2007
Rev. Jerry Lepasana
Doubts are real. And doubts can take roots even to the best of us. It is greatly possible that some of us are struggling with some doubts right now. Our passage this morning provides us an account wherein, after the remarkable resurrection of the Lord Jesus, Thomas who was one of the followers of Jesus expressed his serious doubts with what had happened. It would be interesting to learn how Jesus helped Thomas overcome his doubts. Let’s examine together what happened.
FOLLOWING A LIVING CHRIST 04/08/2007
Rev. Jerry Lepasana
Last Sunday, we started with our theme, Following Christ. We tried to explain what it means to be a true follower of Jesus Christ or what it really means to be a true Christian. This morning, as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, I believe it is appropriate to say that His resurrection is the most significant reason why Jesus is worth following. HE IS THE ONLY LIVING SAVIOR.
LIVING AS CHRIST'S FOLLOWERS 04/01/2007
Rev. Jerry Lepasana
Who are you following? Whether we know it or not, we are a follower of someone or something? From the time we were kids, we have had different influences like our parents, peers, teachers or media telling us to do this and to do that, or telling us to be this and that. Now, if someone were to look at your life this morning, would that person be convinced that you are a follower of Jesus Christ? Is He the strongest influence in your life?
